Elkhorn Slough
On a trip to Monterey, we drove north and visited the Elkhorn Slough. The Slough harbors the largest tract of tidal salt marsh in California outside of San Francisco bay. It provides much needed habitat for hundreds of species of animal and birds. Also a large concentration of Poison Oak (there are photographs along the trail!)
